The recent civil unrest throughout Downtown L.A. left a visible imprint on the Industrial District. Graffiti tagging has been a persistent problem for the past year, but June’s protests definitely raised the volume on this type of expression.
Walls throughout our district were covered with graffiti, and the impact was overwhelming. Our BID Clean Team got to work and dedicated two days to try to restore as much wall space as possible to our businesses. I think you will agree that they did an amazing job.
When graffiti reappears, as we know it will, we will tackle it and do our best to stay on top of it. Our Clean Team is constantly moving throughout the District doing their utmost to address the many maintenance issues we confront on a daily basis.
